00. System Overview

Welcome, Superintendent. You have been entrusted with the operation of the region's primary fission reactor grid.

Your mandate is threefold:

Produce MegaWatts (MW) to meet grid demand without causing meltdowns.

Use revenue to commission advanced reactor cores and build city infrastructure.

Manage grid frequency and prevent brownouts during demand spikes.

Reactors are the heart of your empire. Each unit converts fuel into Heat and Energy.

Heat: Byproduct of generation. 100% Heat = SCRAM.
SCRAM: Safety Control Rod Axe Man. An emergency shutdown that halts production until the core cools to 0%.
Overdrive (OVR): Manual override. Boosts output by 2.5x but generates heat rapidly.

The energy market is volatile. Prices ($/MW) update in real-time based on supply, demand, and external events.

Standard operating conditions. Prices hover around base rates.

High Demand. Prices surge (~2.0x). Ideal time for aggressive Overdrive.

Low Demand. Prices drop (~0.5x). Ideal time for cooling and repairs.

Chaotic fluctuations. High risk, potential for massive gains or losses.

Automation has limits. Hired specialists provide passive buffs to your entire facility.

Maintain 100% Efficiency (No Brownouts) for the duration.
Fail condition: Power Drop.

Push Reactors to limits. Maintain >50% Heat.
Fail condition: SCRAM.

Divert power to the external grid. Export >50% of generation.
Tip: Shut down local city factories to pass.
